Jacob Fatu has revealed he was originally going to be called Caesar Sikoa in WWE.

Back in June 2024, it emerged that WWE had filed a new trademark for the name ‘Caesar Sikoa’. The news came not long after the likes of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa had been introduced to SmackDown as part of Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline, and, just months after reports indicated that Jacob Fatu had inked a deal to join WWE, many thought the Caesar name would be allocated to ‘The Samoan Werewolf’. While that didn’t happen, Fatu has now revealed it was initially the plan.

Speaking to IGN, Fatu confirmed he was originally going to be called Caesar Sikoa in WWE.

“My name was actually supposed to be Caesar Sikoa, and I was next to Hunter. ‘Did you hear your music yet?’ I was like, No, not yet. I don’t even know what my name’s gonna be’. He turned around like, ‘You’re gonna be Jacob Fatu.’”

Fatu debuted on the June 21, 2024, edition of SmackDown, and the company wasted no time in showing fans how dominant he can be. In his first appearance, ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ attacked Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens, with The Bloodline going on to defeat the three former world champions in Fatu’s in-ring debut.

The 35-year-old would go on to become WWE United States Champion at WrestleMania 41, defeating LA Knight in Las Vegas. He held the title for 70 days before losing to his former stablemate Solo Sikoa.

As one of WWE’s most imposing stars, Fatu recently discussed his entrance theme, noting how the intro pays homage to Umaga. You can read more about that here.
