Details have emerged regarding a believed backstage confrontation between Shayna Baszler and Jade Cargill.
On the June 3, 2024, edition of Monday Night RAW, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. The teams also shared the ring in a triple threat at Clash At The Castle in a match which saw Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn claim the titles in their home country. Now, an update has emerged on a believed backstage confrontation from last summer.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler had a backstage confrontation around the time of their tag team matches last year. It’s said that Baszler wanted to fight Cargill before management intervened.
There was a confrontation that took place a few months ago before the Cargill injury involving Cargill and Baszler. It’s been confirmed by a half dozen people that it happened but nobody went into details past Cargill had rubbed enough people in the Raw women’s division the wrong way and Baszler was wanting to fight her until management found out and calmed the situation down. The time frame was when they were doing Baszler & Stark vs. Belair & Cargill matches. I don’t know what in particular happened other than it wasn’t just one thing and the belief is that some of this stemmed from inside the ring in those matches and some didn’t. Although one woman star said they believed the tension within the Smackdown side was worse than the Raw side.

Cargill was written off WWE TV in November 2024 and was out for over four months before returning at Elimination Chamber to take out Naomi. The 32-year-old will now return to the SmackDown brand as we continue on the road to WrestleMania.
