Jade Cargill has reflected on suffering a gruesome cut six weeks ago.

On the September 26 edition of WWE SmackDown, Jade Cargill battled Nia Jax and then champion Tiffany Stratton in a triple threat for WWE Women’s Title. During the match, Cargill was thrown into the steel stairs by Jax which opened a cut by her brow that caused blood to run down her face. Now, the 33-year-old has looked back on the injury she sustained over a month ago.

Speaking with WYFF News, Cargill revealed she actually didn’t feel the cut at first, saying she only knew it was bad when she heard the audience reaction.

“I didn’t feel it. I think it was so much adrenaline going through my body. I didn’t know it was that bad until I was looking in the camera talking and — in unison — the entire arena saying, ‘Ohhh!’ And I was like, ‘Okay, this must be bad.’ And then as I’m still talking, out of my peripheral, I’m seeing all the women turn around and they’re disgusted. I was going to get on the announcer’s table and beat my chest and go crazy, and when I seen that, I said, ‘Okay, this must be really bad.’ And then our ref, Aja, passed by and said, ‘You are bleeding like crazy.’ I said, ‘Okay, this is terrible.’ In our sport, you got to keep going.”

Although she came up short back in September, Cargill captured the WWE Women’s Championship by defeating Tiffany Stratton at last weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. Having won the first world title of her wrestling career, the star recently discussed wanting to take the gold to a new level. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jade Cargill as soon as we hear more.
