More has emerged regarding the believed confrontation between Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler.
Last week, in the March 10, 2025, Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler had a backstage confrontation last year. It was stated that the pair almost came to blows, with ‘The Queen Of Spades’ allegedly wanting to fight Cargill before management intervened. Now, an update has emerged on what led to tensions flaring.
In an update from Dave Meltzer in the March 17, 2025, Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s said that Cargill’s heat with some women in WWE spawned from Jade being disrespectful if something went wrong in the ring.
“The heat was the claim by other women that when there were problems in the ring, she’d blame the other person and was disrespectful. The specific confrontation was Cargill pointing to a bruise on her arm and her telling Baszler that she needed to learn how to work and Baszler responding that if she was shooting that you and I would both know. Then later, when Cargill blamed others for problems in matches, Baszler came up to her and confronted her. This was not a one person deal but Baszler did go to talk to her about it and that didn’t make it better and she got in Baszler’s face according to one person right there and said Baszler clearly wasn’t going to back down. Other talent saw it and they and management diffused it and got them away from each other and Baszler was called to work with the production people on the key spots they were doing in her television match that night. Nothing else happened of significance after that.”

With it noted that nothing significant happened after the incident described, it seems as if the situation is firmly behind both women. As for the future, Cargill returned to WWE at Elimination Chamber and is now locked into a feud with Naomi after the former SmackDown Women’s Champion was revealed to be Jade’s attacker back in November.
