Jamie Hayter has detailed the injury which kept her out of action for over a year.

On the All In Zero Hour, Jamie Hayter made her triumphant return to AEW after being sidelined since May 2023. During her absence, little was known about Hayter’s condition other than that she was suffering from an undisclosed back issue. Now, the 29-year-old has discussed the struggles she faced before being able to come back to the ring.

Speaking on AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette, Hayter revealed that she battled two herniated discs in her back, meaning that there was a significant amount of time in which she couldn’t walk.

“I completely herniated two discs in my back. I wasn’t even aware of the injury until it was really bad. Until I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t even stand up straight. My body was at an angle. I couldn’t laugh, sneeze, cough, sit down, stand in the shower, lay on my back. I couldn’t do anything. I thought it was a sciatica at first. I kept going to the gym and kept wrestling. I did a sky dive on my birthday because I felt really good that day. ‘I’m going to do it.’ After, ‘Oh, maybe I shouldn’t have done that.’ I wasn’t aware of the significance of the injury until I couldn’t walk. ‘I’m in too much pain 24/7.’ It would wake me up in the middle of the night. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy,”

Following her return at Wembley Stadium, Hayter had her first match back last week on Dynamite, defeating Harley Cameron in just over three minutes. It now looks as she’s fully reintegrated into the All Elite Wrestling roster, and fans will be looking forward to what the former AEW Women’s World Champion does now.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jamie Hayter’s recent recovery from injury as soon as we hear more.
