
Cena’s involvement with WWE is far from over.
Although his in-ring career came to an end at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, John Cena revealed in the lead up to his retirement that he has a further five year contract with WWE in an ambassador role.
Fightful Select have now provided an update on Cena’s future involvement with the company, revealing that he is expected to make both onscreen and offscreen appearances for WWE.
“John Cena is expected to make future appearances for WWE, on screen and off. We are’t sure to what extent the on-camera appearances will be.”

After a gruelling battle in the final match of Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., John Cena ultimately submitted to GUNTHER, bringing his legendary in-ring career to an end.
The show concluded with Cody Rhodes and CM Punk presenting Cena with the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships respectively, a montage of Cena’s career highlights airing, Cena leaving his shoes in the ring and bowing to the crowd, followed by one final salute to the WWE Universe.
