The former 16-time World Champion is coming home.

Since 2018, John Cena has been working on a part-time schedule with WWE due his acting pursuits in Hollywood, with his in-ring appearances growing increasingly infrequent over the years. The 46-year-old had already been announced for tomorrow’s episode of SmackDown, although it now appears as though this will be less of a one-off than initially thought.

WWE have now announced that following his previously announced appearance set for tomorrow night, Cena will be appearing on seven consecutive episodes of Friday Night SmackDown, beginning on September 15th in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Additionally, Cena will also be involved at WWE’s Superstar Spectacle show at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India on September 8th, where he’ll team with current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to take on the team of Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Cena’s last WWE appearance came on July 1st earlier this summer at the Money in the Bank premium live event in London, with the former WWE Champion teasing a UK WrestleMania before being interrupted by Grayson Waller.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cena’s plans over the next two months as soon as we hear more.
