Johnny Gargano Reportedly ‘Firmly Under Contract’ With WWE

Johnny Gargano remains contracted with WWE amid rumours that he could join Tommaso Ciampa in AEW.

When Tommaso Ciampa left WWE and headed to All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, DIY went their separate ways. However, after the now former TNT Championship holder came face to face with FTR on the March 4 edition of AEW Dynamite, drawing on their history in NXT, many wondered whether Johnny Gargano could be on his way to All Elite Wrestling to reunite with his tag team partner. Now, an update has emerged regarding the WWE SmackDown star’s contract status.

According to a new update from Fightful Select, it is believed Johnny Gargano remains firmly under contract with WWE.

“We’ve asked a number of times about Johnny Gargano and have just been told he’s “firmly under contract” with WWE at this moment.”

After weeks of feeling lost following Tommaso Ciampa’s move to All Elite Wrestling, Johnny Gargano cut an impassioned promo on the March 6 edition of WWE SmackDown claiming to be one of the best in the world. Unfortunately for the former WWE Tag Team Championship holder, he was put away in quick fashion by Oba Femi, leaving Gargano without a clear direction heading into WrestleMania 42.

Meanwhile, Tommaso Ciampa remains in the hunt for All Elite Wrestling’s TNT Championship. On this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, he successfully teamed with FTR to defeat Mark Briscoe and The Young Bucks as he looks to earn another shot at the gold.

While he does not have a match at this weekend’s AEW Revolution, many are intrigued to see how his association with FTR plays out in the coming weeks.
