Josh Alexander has outlined one of his major goals.

On February 15, Josh Alexander will enter free agency after spending six years with TNA Wrestling. As yet, there’s been no indication as to what could be next for the 37-year-old he’s previously discussed being open to any and all possibilities that could be on the horizon. Now, he’s confirmed a big goal he has when it comes to wrestling in Japan.

Talking on Pro Wrestling Wire, Alexander was asked whether he has ambitions to compete in the G1 Climax, which prompted him to confirm his desire to take part in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s iconic tournament.

“Oh, absolutely. That’ll be the goal forever until it never happens and then it’ll be a regret forever. You know, just keep your fingers crossed and hopefully it can transpire one day. It’s not one of those things like — I jokingly say regret, but like if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. It just wasn’t meant to be. I’ve come to a point in my life where I understand that everything happens for a reason and I’ve been very lucky and grateful along this path. If that doesn’t happen, I can be very happy about the many other things that have occurred in my life and my career,”

-Josh Alexander

Alexander is a former two-time Impact World Champion, with his second reign being the longest in company history. Regardless of what the future holds, the Canadian would undoubtedly be a key acquisition for any company once his TNA deal expires in just four days time. While many fans would be interested in the prospect of Alexander in the G1, whether that happens remains to be seen.
