The latest update on Karrion Kross’ future has emerged.

On August 10, the WWE deals of Karrion Kross and Scarlett expired amid speculation over their future. The pair had been receiving a lot of support online, so many fans were unhappy that their contract status’ remained up in the air despite their prominent role on Monday Night RAW of late. However, the legitimacy of their free agency has been called into question over the last few weeks, and now the latest update has emerged on Karrion Kross’ WWE status.

Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s believed that Kross was given an extension offer by WWE which he is yet to sign.

“It’s definitely being kept quiet. It’s a weird one. There’s way, way, way too much talk and the nature of the talk makes me think there’s more to it. —They gave him an offer and he didn’t sign as of this week. He may be a free agent.”

Expanding on this, Meltzer discussed how those interviewing Kross with relation to his new book are being told not to ask him about his contract status with WWE.

“He’s doing a lot of media because his book came out on Tuesday. The people who are doing interviews with him are being told…it’s not WWE that’s sending him on the tour, it’s ECW Press, and they’ve basically said you cannot ask any questions regarding his contract situation, WWE situation.”

-Dave Meltzer

To close, Meltzer noted that the belief is that Kross will end up back with WWE, but uncertainty still remain over the situation.

“The belief in WWE is he (Karrion Kross)’s going to be back but, you know, we’ll see. They are not telling anyone anything, but everyone is pretty sceptical. It’s like are they working the boys on this if he comes back? You can say yes, but it’s not like they’re being fooled. It’s not like guys are coming and going, ‘Oh no, he’s really gone.’ No one is saying that. They’re just sort of like, ‘We don’t know and whatever.‘“

-Dave Meltzer

Kross and Scarlett have both publicly announced their WWE departure, with the former NXT Champion revealing via social media that he is now accepting independent bookings moving forward. Still, skepticism remains regarding their future, and the situation is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Karrion Kross’ future as soon as we hear more.
