Heading out of his Continental Cup match with Katsuyori Shibata on the August 15 episode of Collision, Nigel McGuinness began carrying an unfortunate foot injury. While he continued on to the next ring, he seemingly aggravated the situation during his quarterfinal matchup against Hechicero on Wednesday’s Dynamite, as a result, a change has now been made to his planned match at tonight’s ROH Death Before Dishonor.

As confirmed online by ROH’s X account, It was announced on Ring of Honor’s weekly show on Thursday that Nigel McGuinness will be forced to miss his upcoming ROH Pure Championship match against Lee Moriarty at their Death Before Dishonor show because of his lingering foot injury. McGuinness will be replaced in the match by Katsuyori Shibata. His upcoming match with Moriarty was a big one, as it not only was for the Pure Title, but also had added stipulation that if McGuinness lost the matchup, he would be forced to leave ROH for good.

While this will raise concerns over McGuinness’ at status for his scheduled Continental Cup semi final match in Glasgow, nothing has yet been announced suggesting he’ll be unable to compete when Dynamite comes to Scotland.

Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor will take place at the former ECW Arena, now known as the 2300 Arena, and will see Bandido defend his ROH World Title against Nick Wayne, Athena defend her ROH World Women’s Belt against STARDOM’s Hazuki, among many more matches.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the lineup for tonight’s Death Before Dishonor as soon as we hear more.
