AEW EVP Kenny Omega believes former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is the company’s most valuable player.
As one of the founders of the company, many often view Kenny Omega as the MVP of All Elite Wrestling, with The Elite member having held the AEW World Championship, Tag Team Championship, and Trios Championship during his tenured with the company thus far. On the other hand, one of Omega’s greatest rivals, fellow former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, is often viewed as the heart and soul of the promotion, having guiding AEW through several difficult periods, including the Covid-19 pandemic and the aftermath of the ‘Brawl Out’ incident.
Speaking recently to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Omega commented on the respect he has for Jon Moxley, highlighting the passion they both share for the industry.
“There is a mutual respect. We respect where we’ve been, what we’re trying to do and where we’re going,”

Omega’s rivalry with Moxley dates back to the former WWE star’s AEW debut back at Double or Nothing in 2019, with the pair having crossed paths a number of times since then, including in the infamous Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at Revolution in 2021.
Reflecting on his rivalry with the Blackpool Combat Club member, Omega stated that he feels as though Moxley is more deserving of the title of AEW’s MVP than he is, highlighting that he’s been on almost every show since joining the company.
“If I’m being honest, the MVP of AEW hasn’t been me. It’s Jon Moxley. For AEW, Jon’s been the one. He’s been at almost every show. He’s bled at almost every show. There is no one higher on the blood-giving list. Maybe that’s what makes this feud so interesting. It’s someone with the notoriety from Japan against someone who was a top player from WWE. And Jon hasn’t stopped working. I was injured, but now that I’m healed up, it’s beautiful that we can restart the song and dance between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley,”

The pair recently reignited their heated rivalry, with The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) and the Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta) currently at each other’s throats.
Tomorrow’s episode of AEW Dynamite will see Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley go one-on-one once more in a steel cage match, adding yet another chapter to their storied rivalry.
