Another of AEW’s top stars looks to be taking some time off.

This past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Don Callis repeatedly refer to Kenny Omega as “dead” following his match with Kazuchika Okada at AEW: All In.

With Omega having been absent from both Dynamite and this week’s Collision taping, Fightful Select have now provided an update on his status, revealing that he is expected to take time off from AEW.

“AEW sources tell Fightful Select he’s expected to take time off. We haven’t heard what specifically Omega is taking time off for, or if it means a consecutive or sporadic absence for him.”

Omega has competed in ten matches since making his return following a life-threatening battle with diverticulitis, with his most recent being his loss to Kazuchika Okada at AEW: All In that saw his greatest rival crowned AEW Unified Champion.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the status of Kenny Omega as soon as we hear more.
