‘The Best Bout Machine’ has reportedly undergone surgery.

In December, the wrestling world was shocked by the news that Kenny Omega had been hospitalised by Diverticulitis. Understandably, this has led to a period of absence for Omega as far as AEW is concerned, but he did recently make his return to All Elite Wrestling to be written off by The Elite in a vicious attack. Now, it appears as if the 40-year-old has reached the next stage of his recovery.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Kenny Omega has now undergone surgery for his diverticulitis, taking place on May 16.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Kenny Omega underwent surgery last week to aid in the recovery from diverticulitis.”

Omega’s aforementioned return to AEW TV saw him tease a further showdown with former NJPW rival Kazuchika Okada, however, following his surgical procedure, it’s said that there is no current creative plans for the return of the former AEW World Champion, and that the company are expecting a lengthy recovery before they can schedule his comeback.

We wish Kenny Omega the best in his recovery from his recent surgery.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kenny Omega’s diverticulitis recovery as soon as we hear more.
