Omega was happy to see Andrade return to All Elite Wrestling.

During the October 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade made his All Elite Wrestling return by attacking Kenny Omega before officially joining the Don Callis Family. He has yet to reappear on AEW television, however, with multiple reports confirming that WWE issued AEW with legal notice over an alleged violation of Andrade’s non-compete clause that could keep him out of the ring for up to a year.

Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri, Kenny Omega said he was happy to see Andrade return to AEW and added that he is confident things will work out for the best regarding the non-compete issue.

“Andrade and I have quite a bit of history, actually, when he was La Sombra in New Japan. This was during a time when luchador wrestlers didn’t really go on prolonged tours with New Japan. It was kind of rare. He was just a guy who didn’t speak much English or Japanese, and you could tell this guy’s talent is through the roof. What a talented individual and a very nice young man, too, — To see him back in AEW was a happy moment for me because I felt that he really wanted to be there and do well. So now that he’s been sidelined for a little bit, I can imagine that when he comes back, he’ll still have the same amount of motivation. I think everything will be alright.”

Whilst his feud with Andrade has understandably been put on hold, Omega remains at odds with the Don Callis Family and is set to team with Jurassic Express against Josh Alexander and his former allies The Young Bucks at tomorrow night’s AEW: Full Gear pay-per-view with one million dollars on the line.

Elsewhere during the interview, Omega opened up on his ideal retirement scenario. You can read more about that here.

Regarding Andrade’s future, recent reports have suggested that his non-compete clause is believed to apply worldwide following a recently scheduled appearance in Mexico. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Andrade’s contract status as soon as we hear more.
