The latest AEW signee was seemingly close to joining WWE.

Following his performance in the opening bout with Jay White on last night’s AEW Collision, Tony Khan took to X to reveal that Kevin Knight is officially “All Elite,” putting an end to speculation about the 28-year-old’s future.

Knight’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling was said to have expired earlier this year, and whilst we now know that his future lies with All Elite Wrestling, PWInsider have revealed that Knight was invited to a tryout at WWE’s Performance Center before making his decision.

“PWInsider.com can confirm that Knight had an invited tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando several weeks ago, but in the end, decided to sign with AEW.”

Alongside KUSHIDA as the Intergalactic Jet Setters, Knight is a former two-time IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and is widely considered to be one of the hottest prospects in the wrestling world today.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kevin Knight joining AEW as soon as we hear more.
