The former IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship is assessing his options.
Earlier this week, Fightful Select reported that a number of NJPW wrestlers are currently working without a contract. Kevin Knight was amongst those names, with an earlier report noting that he is effectively a free agent.
Fightful Select have now provided an additional update on Knight’s status, revealing that the 28-year-old spoke with Tony Khan and Rocky Romero during his appearance at ROH and that a new NJPW deal has been discussed, although he’s also interested in weighing up the option of joining WWE.
“Fightful has confirmed with AEW sources that Knight spoke with Tony Khan and Rocky Romero during his ROH appearance, and that he’s been discussing the potential of a new deal with NJPW. In addition, he’d expressed interest in weighing his potential WWE options with WWE to make a better decision on his future. We’ve not learned if WWE and Knight have had talks.”

Since the initial report broke the news of Knight now being a free agent, he and KUSHIDA have dropped the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. Additionally, Knight has also worked MLW tapings alongside the aforementioned AEW/ROH dates and made his return to GCW after over a year.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Kevin Knight as soon as we hear more.
