Kevin Owens, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, has admitted that he wanted to take part in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder battle.

Over the Money in the Bank weekend, Kevin Owens and his tag team parter Sami Zayn both competed in a match. On the June 30 episode of WWE SmackDown, the tag team successfully defended their titles against Pretty Deadly.

When discussing how much he liked ladder matches with Mark Andrews on the My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Owens said he was “a little annoyed” that he wasn’t in the Money in the Bank match:

“I’m actually annoyed i’m not in it this year.I love ladders, I love ladder matches, I think I thrive in them so, to not get to do it kind of sucks.”

After winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, Damian Priest now has a contract that gives him the right to a WWE title bout whenever he wants.
