The pair of former WWE Superstars are putting in the work.
On August 10, both Karrion Kross and Scarlett departed WWE following the expiration of their contracts. The pair have since returned to the independent circuit under their previous names, Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux, performing for promotions including GCW and DEFY Wrestling, among others.
Appearing on the Coach & Bro podcast alongside Killer Kross, Scarlett revealed that the pair are currently earning more from their work on the independent scene than they did during their time in WWE.
“This sounds crazy and probably not very believable, but it’s something I feel like the people in WWE right now who might be stressed out — ‘Am I going to get released?’ — they might want to hear this. We are making more than we were making there. We were getting paid very well, but we are making more now weekly on the shows we’re doing than we were at WWE. And WWE pays great, but it can be done if you hustle.”

Expanding on his wife’s comments, Kross explained that their post-WWE work extends well beyond wrestling on the independent circuit.
“You have the shows. You have independent merchandising. You have toys. There’s independent video games being developed that a lot of people don’t know about and they’re looking for unsigned talent. There’s the conventions… your income will not solely come from the independent shows per se, but being an independent contractor and you’re not under the umbrella of somewhere, you have a whole world wide open.”

Killer Kross is scheduled to face fellow former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle at the MLW x Don Gato live special on November 20.
Regarding their future, Scarlett revealed last month that if she and Kross were to join AEW, it would become their permanent home. You can read more about that here.
