‘The Golden Star’ looks to have suffered an injury at a recent TV taping.
During the AEW Collision tapings on October 8, Fightful reported that Kota Ibushi appeared to suffer an injury in his match against Josh Alexander, with his leg buckling after a fall from the turnbuckle to the outside.
PWInsider have now provided an update on the situation, reporting that Kota Ibushi is believed to have suffered a broken femur.
“The word making the rounds backstage at AEW is that Kota Ibushi suffered a broken femur. There has been no official announcement yet.”

Kota Ibushi was examined by medical personnel before being stretchered out of the ringside area. As he received attention, the lights dimmed in Daily’s Place, with Tony Khan thanking fans for their patience and leading a heartfelt “Ibushi” chant.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion joined All Elite Wrestling in 2023, but injuries and illnesses have limited his in-ring appearances. Although he returned to AEW in June this year, it now appears he is set for another stint on the sidelines.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kota Ibushi’s injury status as soon as we hear more, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
