Kyle Fletcher has opened up on his experience of AEW All In: Texas.

At AEW All In : Texas, fans were originally set to see Adam Cole defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher, with many expecting the Aussie to walk out with the gold. However, on the day of the show, Cole has to pull out after a serious of consecutive concussions that both ruled him out of competition at Globe Life Field and left his career as a whole in jeopardy. As a result, the match was changed to a four-way for the vacant title which was won by Dustin Rhodes. Now, Fletcher has discussed his experience of All In: Texas.

Speaking to Soundsphere Magazine, Kyle Fletcher talked through why he views All In: Texas as one of the worst days of his life.

“This is the first time I’ve actually really spoken about that day. It was one of the worst days of my whole life. When you have so much built up anxiety and you’ve put that pressure on yourself… You know, I’d been dieting for two, three months leading up to that show. Every single day, I’d been thinking about this moment, this match, all of it. And then the rug gets pulled five hours before, you can’t really put into words what that kind of feels like. I was just in this weird limbo. I had no idea what was gonna happen, and I had flown my mum out for that show. It was obviously a huge day for me, and then it just all went to shit. Obviously, this is my perspective. It’s very hard for me to complain about it, because I don’t feel like I have the right to complain about it. But yeah, it was very emotional in a lot of different ways, and not how you want a big day like that to go. So I think, especially this year, I just want to make sure it’s a day to remember and a much more positive one.”

Fletcher did go on become TNT Champion, winning the title in an intense battle with Dustin Rhodes on the July 31 edition of Collision. Now, the 27-year-old is in the midst of his second reign with the title having beaten Tommaso Ciampa to reclaim the gold on February 11.

While Fletcher’s journey to the TNT Championship may have had some bumps in the road, he remains one of the most exciting performers in All Elite Wrestling, with many touting him as a future world champion.
