La Catalina could be jumping ship from CMLL to AAA.

Earlier today, CMLL announced that La Catalina had officially left the promotion on April 1, stating that her departure was due to her decision not to renew her contract.

Following the announcement, BodySlam offered insight into the reasoning behind her departure, reporting that sources believe La Catalina became unhappy with her booking in CMLL and may be heading to AAA.

“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that La Catalina became unhappy with her booking after just being featured as an extra/filler talent recently. This comes after being prominently used last year especially when she went up against Mercedes Moné at Fantastica Mania. — La Catalina announced her intentions to not renew her contract as she felt there was nothing else for her in CMLL and it didn’t fit what she wanted to do with her career moving forward. While nothing is official, some believe that La Catalina could now be AAA bound.”

The report also highlights that with the growing involvement of AEW’s women’s division, La Catalina began to be used in less prominent positions by CMLL and was instead relegated to opening matches with little relevance.

Should La Catalina make the move to AAA, she would become the first talent to transfer from CMLL to AAA since WWE acquired the latter on April 19, 2025.

La Catalina made her CMLL debut in March 2023 following her departure from WWE in 2021 due to her work visa expiring. The Chilean went on to win the CMLL Universal Amazons Championship in her first year with the promotion and has been widely praised for her improvement inside the squared circle during her time there.
