LA Knight Was Reportedly Set For Feud With GUNTHER Before WWE Changed Plans

LA Knight was reportedly set for a feud with GUNTHER before WWE’s plans changed.
Since teaming with The Usos to take on The Vision and IShowSpeed to open the first night of WrestleMania 42, LA Knight hasn’t wrestled a match for WWE. While ‘The Megastar’ has appeared in backstage segments expressing disappointment in Jimmy and Jey for aligning with Roman Reigns, he’s yet to establish a fresh rivalry to sink his teeth into going forward. Now, it seems the company did have a post-WrestleMania program for Knight before plans changed.
According to an update from Bodyslam, it’s believed LA Knight was originally set to feud with GUNTHER after WrestleMania 42.
“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that LA Knight was scheduled to have a short program with Gunther before the company pivoted to Gunther heading to SmackDown to challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. It is currently unknown what Knight’s creative direction will now be but he is still with the company.”

On the RAW following WrestleMania, LA Knight and GUNTHER had a tense backstage interaction when ‘The Megastar’ and ‘The Ring General’ both declared their intention to go after the World Heavyweight Championship. Instead, the Austrian appeared on the latest edition of SmackDown to start a program with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
For now, whether Knight continues to chase the RAW’s top gold in future remains to be seen, particularly as Roman Reigns’ schedule appears to be a lot lighter than initially expected after Backlash. Should ‘The Tribal Chief’ retain this weekend, it seems the World Heavyweight Title could be absent from Monday Nights throughout June.
Reigns being pulled from upcoming episodes of RAW left many wondering if he’d had a clash with TKO, particularly with many of his co-workers reportedly being offered pay cuts of late. However, the company’s stance on Roman’s contract has now been revealed. You can read more on that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the plans for LA Knight as soon as we hear more.
