The event will be the first WWE show in Saudi Arabia not to feature the former multi-time world champion.
On Saturday, November 4th, WWE will make their return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the Mohammed Abdu Arena hosts Crown Jewel. Seven matches have been announced for the premium live event thus far, however there has yet to be any sign of Brock Lesnar, who has featured on every WWE PLE in Saudi Arabia today.
It now appears as though a late addition is unlikely, as during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that, barring a change of plans, Brock Lesnar is set to return to the ring at 2024’s Royal Rumble show, thus ruling him out of next weekend’s event.
“Everything can change, but Rumble was the plan when he lost to Cody, not Crown Jewel. So it wasn’t something like “you wanna do Crown Jewel or something?”, it was never in the cards. This was gonna be time that he’s off for whatever reason that he wants to be off.”
-Dave Meltzer
Lesnar’s last match came earlier this year at SummerSlam, with Cody Rhodes getting the win to put an end to their trilogy that began following WrestleMania 39.
Next Saturday’s Crown Jewel show will feature Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight and IYO SKY putting the WWE Women’s Title on the line against Bianca Belair, amongst several other big-time matchups.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Brock Lesnar as soon as we hear more.
