Leilani Kai wants a coaching role with NXT.

A mainstay of the women’s roster throughout the 1980s, Leilani Kai is a legend of WWE’s past. Now 68, she is a former Women’s Champion and a two-time holder of the original WWF Women’s Tag Team Championships as one half of The Glamour Girls alongside Judy Martin, but could she soon be back with the company as a coach?

In a new interview with Bill Apter, Kai revealed that she would like to take on a coaching role with NXT. She also expressed her admiration for Blake Monroe.

“I’m so interested in NXT. I want to be a coach there so bad. I try to go to all the events I can go to just to be able to watch them. That’s really the only thing I care about — NXT, really. I gave her (Blake) some little pearls. It’s just my little Glamour Girl thing I had. I had a few pieces of jewelry I wanted her to have, and I’m just so proud of her. I watch everything she does.”

Monroe joined WWE in June and quickly set her sights on championship gold. At last week’s Halloween Havoc, less than five months after her debut, ‘The Glamour’ defeated Zaria, who filled in for Sol Ruca, to capture the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

Blake has certainly caught the attention of one of the company’s most respected legends, although whether Leilani Kai takes up a coaching role in the near future remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Leilani Kai possibly working with NXT as soon as we hear more.
