Malakai Black is reportedly now a free agent.

On the January 8 edition of AEW Dynamite, Buddy Matthews and Brody King were seemingly separated from Malakai Black, with reports then coming out suggesting that the Dutchman was finishing up with All Elite Wrestling. Earlier today, the 39-year-old was officially removed from the company’s roster page and now it appears as if Black has become a free agent.

Per PWInsider, it’s believed that Malakai Black’s AEW contract expired on February 9.

“Malakai Black is a free agent, PWInsider.com has confirmed. Black’s deal with AEW expired yesterday.”

Black first signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021 and is a former AEW World Trios Champion as part of the House of Black. His former teammates have since changed their collective name to the Hounds of Hell and are set to continue competing in the company for the foreseeable future.

When it comes to Black’s next move, it seems likely that he may be headed to WWE following his free agency, particularly as a previous report indicated that they see him as a potential singles star should he make a return. For now, though, whether that happens remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Malakai Black’s future as soon as we hear more.
