Máscara Dorada Names Will Ospreay As An AEW Star He’d Like To Face

Máscara Dorada wants to take on AEW’s Will Ospreay.
In January, Máscara Dorada announced on Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s weekly magazine show CMLL Informa that he had signed with All Elite Wrestling while also keeping his contract with CMLL. Dorada has made a number of appearances for AEW in 2026 thus far, and it appears he has his sights set on a major dream match.
Speaking to Denise Salcedo, Máscara Dorada was asked which names from AEW he would like to face in the future, to which he highlighted Will Ospreay as his top choice.
“If we’re talking about wrestlers I haven’t faced yet, I think I’d have to go with Will Ospreay. He’s a very well-rounded wrestler, every time he steps into the ring, it’s a five-star match, no matter who he’s facing. He’s a very imposing wrestler, very strong, and very agile.”

Máscara Dorada currently holds both the CMLL World Trios Championship alongside his El Sky Team stablemates Místico and Neón, as well as the World Historic Welterweight Championship.
El Sky Team successfully defended the CMLL World Trios Championship against Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia of Death Riders at Homenaje a Dos Leyendas 2026 on March 20. Máscara Dorada then went on to retain the NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship at Martes Populares on March 31 against Yutani.
Will Ospreay, meanwhile, currently finds himself at odds with Jon Moxley as the pair prepare to clash for the AEW Continental Championship at AEW Dynasty on April 12.
With Death Riders in Jon Moxley’s corner, Will Ospreay appears to be seeking the help of United Empire following his return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling at Sakura Genesis on April 4.
