High praise for the former leader of the Alpha Academy.
On the May 15 episode of Monday Night RAW, Maxxine Dupri joined Alpha Academy after siding with Chad Gable and Otis over Maximum Male Models. The group later welcomed Akira Tozawa, with Gable taking on the role of coach until his departure from the faction last summer.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Maxxine Dupri reflected on her time working with Chad Gable, praising her former mentor for his deep understanding of the business and the valuable lessons he taught her.
“He’s actually someone kind of what I was saying earlier, he’s a man of few words. So when he tells me something, I take it to heart, because he’s someone that can look at something creatively… The mind he has for this business, he’s just able to zoom out and see everything and give me these pointers that I’m like, duh, why didn’t I think of that? But I would never, and he sees it so clearly. So I go to him a lot for things like that, because when it comes to matches and just his ability to understand this business truly is out of this world.”

Maxxine Dupri challenged Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the October 20 edition of RAW. Although her disqualification victory meant Lynch retained the title, Dupri now finds herself in line for another opportunity to capture her championship in WWE.
Gable, meanwhile, is currently sidelined following shoulder surgery after suffering a rotator cuff injury in June. In his absence, the El Grande Americano gimmick has lived on through Ludwig Kaiser.
Elsewhere during the interview, Dupri reflected on her growth both inside and outside of the ring. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Maxxine Dupri as soon as we hear more, and we continue to wish Chad Gable all the best in his recovery.
