The reason behind the October 27th episode of AEW Rampage having only three matches has now been revealed.
With AEW Rampage airing for just one hour each Friday on TNT, the number of matches able to be booked on each show can be limited. Rampage tends to feature four matches within the hour on most weeks, and thus it was surprising to see just three bouts take place on the October’s 27th edition of the show, however the reasoning behind this has now seemingly been revealed.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that Komander was set to take on Metalik during the taping, however the match was pulled due to Metalik refusing to put his opponent over.
“The reason the 10/27 Rampage show had only three matches instead of four is because Komander vs. Metalik was booked for the show and then pulled when Metalik refused to put Komander over. Metalik still worked Collision a few days later but that can’t have helped his standing here.”

Komander had previously defeated Metalik just a week prior on ROH TV, and thus, it appears as though 35-year-old was unwilling to do the same again.
Elsewhere on the card, Ortiz and Mike Santana finally went head-to-head in singles competition, a four-way bout to determine a new number one contender for the AEW Women’s Championship was won by Abadon, and Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kyle Fletcher in the main event.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on this situation as soon as we hear more.
