Santana’s status ahead of the show remains uncertain.

Last night’s episode of TNA iMPACT! saw Frankie Kazarian score a shock victory over Mike Santana in the main event to win the TNA World Championship. The match marked Santana’s first title defence since he defeated NXT’s Trick Williams for the belt at Bound For Glory on October 12.

PWInsider are now reporting that Mike Santana is yet to arrive for tonight’s Turning Point pay-pay-view, with talent claiming he has not responded to the company’s attempts to reach him.

“As of 2 PM Eastern this afternoon, Mike Santana has not arrived at tonight’s TNA Turning Point PPV. Call time for talent was 1 PM Eastern. Santana did not appear for his scheduled meet and greet after the taping. The word making the way around talents is that Santana has not returned the company’s call or texts.”

Mike Santana is scheduled to compete in tonight’s main event, teaming with Steve Maclin to face the new TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian and Nic Nemeth.

It is worth noting that Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has since quote-tweeted our aggregation of PWInsider’s report on X with the comment below, suggesting that the situation may be part of a storyline.

Sean Ross Sapp has since expanded on the above tweet on Bluesky, stating that the promotion is reportedly crafting a storyline in response to the backlash from last night’s result, which explains the reports surrounding Santana’s absence.

TNA is trying to work an angle around Santana and the unhappiness from fans. They're claiming he isnt at the tapings and TNA officials haven't heard from him

The original PWInsider report notes that TNA Wrestling officials did not respond to a request for comment, and it seems it will not be long before it becomes clear whether the situation is genuine or part of an angle.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Mike Santana’s involvement at TNA: Turning Point as soon as we hear more.
