MJF Says Anyone Can Feel Comfortable At An AEW Show As WWE Leans Right

MJF highlights that All Elite Wrestling is not affiliated with a political party, unlike WWE.

In the build-up to MJF’s AEW World Championship defence against Brody King back in February, ‘F*ck ICE’ chants became a regular feature across AEW programming, with fans showing support for King’s sentiments during a period of heightened political tension across the United States involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Appearing on The Adam Friedland Show ahead of AEW Dynasty, MJF once again addressed the chants not being censored by All Elite Wrestling and compared the situation to WWE increasingly veering towards right-wing politics.

“We had a ‘F*ck ICE’ chant. I think what’s so cool about that is in our company, our fans have a voice. And in the other company, a lot of times when fans curse or when they say something that they don’t want them to say, they just bleep it. They bleep the crowd out entirely and they edit it out of the show. Or they’ll create fake crowd noise of it so you can’t hear the chants they’re making. I’ll also say. They’ve made a choice to be a little bit more right-leaning. Triple H has done a couple of speeches in the White House. Linda McMahon, I believe, is in the cabinet… We are not affiliated to any party, so anybody can feel comfortable going to our shows.”

Paul ‘Triple’ H Levesque currently serves on President Donald Trump’s Council of Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, while Linda McMahon serves as the United States Secretary of Education. Earlier this week, CM Punk referred to Pat McAfee as ‘Pat MAGAfee’, prompting criticism over WWE’s increasing ties to the controversial 47th U.S. President.

MJF is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega in the main event of AEW Dynasty on Sunday, April 12, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Brody King recently commented on the support the All Elite Wrestling fan base have shown him for his anti-ICE stance. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the reaction to ‘F*ck ICE’ chants in All Elite Wrestling as soon as we hear more.
