MJF Says His Match With Roderick Strong At AEW Full Gear 2024 Is One Of His Career Favourites

MJF says his match with Roderick Strong is one of his favourites.

At Full Gear 2024, MJF faced Roderick Strong as ‘The Salt of The Earth’ looked to target a close friend of Adam Cole. On the night, MJF was able to pick up the submission victory over his opponent, with the post-match assault serving to further the rivalry between himself and The Undisputed Kingdom. While it may have appeared to be a stop on the road during the feud with Cole, MJF has now revealed he looks back fondly on his match with Strong.

Speaking with Joe Hulbert on Late Night Grin, MJF revealed the Full Gear 2024 match with Roderick Strong is one of his favourite matches of his career to date.

“I think we all know Roderick Strong’s a f*cking freak of nature. I’ve never been hit harder in my entire life. It’s not even close. He hit my beard off my face. One of my favorite matches of my entire career, and I think if people watched it back now that the ’MJF bad’ disease is gone now, the derangement syndrome. I think if people watch it now knowing how great I am and having to admit how great I am, that they’ll be able to thoroughly enjoy the match because it was a great f*cking match.”

Following his win over Strong, MJF would go on to defeat Adam Cole for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Worlds End 2024, getting a modicum of revenge after Cole had been revealed as ‘the devil’ at Worlds End the previous year.

The star is currently in the midst of his second run as AEW World Champion, most recently wrestling Mike Bailey in a championship eliminator match. Up next, MJF will look to defend his gold against Kenny Omega in the main event of Dynasty on April 12.
