WWE are tying down the lucha libre promotion’s roster ahead of TripleMania XXXIII.

Since WWE’s acquisition of AAA on April 19th, the cross-promotional appearances have been frequent between the two companies as WWE look to establish AAA as the premier lucha libre promotion in Mexico.

In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that multiple AAA talents are now under WWE contracts and are being merchandised, with the company not wanting to platform talent at the upcoming TripleMania XXXIII that could walk into All Elite Wrestling.

“Microman, La Hiedra, La Parka, Faby Apache (credit Natalya for this one) Nino Hamburguesa, Mesias and Lady Flammer have signed WWE contracts for AAA and already being merchandised. At this point I would strongly suspect everyone on the TripleMania show is under a WWE contract since WWE owns the company and isn’t putting anyone on its platform that can legally walk into AEW.”

TripleMania XXXIII takes place on August 16th at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, with the main event set to see El Hijo del Vikingo defend the AAA Mega Championship against Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano.

The event will be streamed live on WWE’s YouTube channel, with commentary available in both English and Spanish.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AAA talent signing WWE contracts as soon as we hear more.
