MVP Says It Could Be Time For The Hurt Syndicate To Add Another Member Again

MVP discusses whether The Hurt Syndicate could go back to four members in AEW.
Ever since Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin debuted for AEW in 2024, many wondered if they’d recruit a fourth member to The Hurt Syndicate. In May last year, the group officially welcomed MJF into their ranks after weeks of the star proving himself to the faction. However, the now AEW World Champion was kicked out of the Syndicate less than three months later, and they continued as a trio. Now, MVP has opened up on whether they could once again add another member.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, MVP revealed The Hurt Syndicate are discussing adding another member, despite MJF’s time in the group not working out.
“We are currently discussing adding a new member. The last go-around, we tried it with MJF. It didn’t go well because he just didn’t make the cut. He wasn’t good enough. He doesn’t have the drive. He doesn’t have the internal capability for true violence. He’s a huckster. I went out on the limb and vouched for him with my colleagues, but just didn’t make the cut. So that kind of soured us for a little bit about trying to add somebody new, but we think we do need a little youthfulness. We need a youthful spark. So it could be about time to add a new member.”

Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are former AEW World Tag Team Champions having captured the titles in January last year. Should they recruit another member, it could allow them to pursue trios gold while MVP remains a force on the outside of the ring.
Though The Hurt Syndicate were a key part of All Elite Wrestling across 2025, Lashley hasn’t been seen since the Casino Gauntlet to crown the inaugural AEW National Champion at Full Gear, with Benjamin last competing on the January 7 Dynamite. As yet, it’s unclear when either man will return to programming.
Following Lashley’s absence, speculation mounted that ‘The All Mighty’ was off our screens due to injury. However, he recently clarified that wasn’t the case. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on The Hurt Syndicate as soon as we hear more.
