Stardom

The second round and quarterfinals of the Cinderella tournament happened this weekend just days away from the final day of the tournament, where the winner will receive a “wish” that leads to them challenging for a championship of their choosing, which has been the Wonder of Stardom Championship in recent years.

In two shocking upsets in the second round, Miyu Amasaki defeated Mai Sakurai after rolling her up and Ruaka eliminated Hazuki, who has been considered one of the favorites to win it all, by throwing her over the top rope to advance to the Quarterfinals. AZM & Xena unsurprisingly won their second-round matches in the tournament.

The Quarterfinals have been even more exciting with Ruaka defeating Xena in another upset for the Oedo Tai Member. Ami Sohrei beat Mei Seira in a competitive match after hitting a brainbuster on the apron to get the Over the top rope victory over the High-Speed Champion and with that reaching the semi-final for a second straight year. AZM defeated Miyu Amasaki in a battle of the 02Line Mates when she tapped out Amasaki, who had a great showing in the tournament, and in another major upset, Hanan rolled up Starlight Kid with the “Seventeen” to eliminate another tournament favorite to advance to the semi-finals. With that, the four semi-finalists are set who will fight for the tournament victory on March 20th.

Sendai Girls

Sendai Girls held a show in Shin-Kiba 1st RING on March 17th with five matches on the card. The show will air on March 23rd on Wrestle Universe and will be the first Senjo show to air on that Network since the announcement has been made.

After her singles match against Riko Kawahata, Mika Iwata has nominated VENY as her challenger for the Sendai Girls World Championship on April 14th at Korakuen Hall. It will be the first defense of Iwata, who won the championship from Millie McKenzie back on the BIG SHOW on September 18th. Veny & Iwata faced each other last year for the Sendai Girls World Title, where Veny was able to win the match and retain her title at that time, now the roles are reversed and Iwata walks into the big Korakuen Hall Main Event as Champion

In the main event of the show, Manami & Ryo Mizunami defeated DASH Chisako & Hiroyo Matsumoto to win the Sendai Girls Tag Team Championships, which ended the just 26-day-long reign of the Reiwa Ultima Powers. While Mizunami won the title for the first time, it’s Manami’s second run with the belt after holding it together with Mika Iwata in 2021. The duo of Ryo & Manami have challenged a handful of times for the belts and were now finally able to win it.

SEAdLINNNG

SEAdLINNNG held a show in Shin-Kiba on March 15th with four matches on the card. At the beginning of the show, Arisa Nakajima announced that she would make her comeback on April 21st at Korakuen Hall after the injury that she suffered on the January show of the promotion. She will team up with an unknown partner against Hiroyo Matsumoto and an unknown partner in a Tag Team match.

In the main event of the show, Makoto & Nagisa Nozaki defeated Maya Yukihi & VENY to win the Beyond The Sea Tag Team Titles in the battle between the two Las Fresa de Egoistas teams after Nozaki pinned Yukihi with the Noir Lancer High in a great match, that is worth checking out. All four went out there and delivered one of the best Tag Matches in Joshi Wrestling this year with great pacing and a fantastic dynamic. After the match, PURE-J’s Crea came out and announced that she and AKARI will challenge for the Tag Belts on April 21st at Korakuen Hall.
