Netflix’s Content Chief has said Vince McMahon is ‘gone’.

On January 23, WWE officially announced a new partnership with Netflix which will see their flagship show Monday Night Raw be hosted by the streaming service from January 2025, with the deal worth $5 billion dollars over ten years. However, later that week, WWE made headlines for all the wrong reasons, as a lawsuit made against Vince McMahon alleging cases of abuse and sexual exploitation was made public.

During their recent press event, Netflix Content Chief Bela Bajaria was asked whether there were any concerns from her side about the allegations made against McMahon last week. In response, she reassured listeners that Vince was ‘gone’ from the company.

“He’s gone. So he’s not there. He’s gone,”

Away from the allegations made against Vince McMahon, Brandon Riegg discussed Netflix’s deal with WWE, saying that the company’s consistent audience over the last couple of decades is a solid foundation as far as the streaming service is concerned.

“The truth is we don’t know how much bigger it can get. I think we’re all really bullish on it, but we know that has an incredibly consistent audience for the last several decades. And so that’s really first and foremost where we’re starting at and then we’ll see where we go from there.”

In response to the allegations, the 78-year-old formally announced his resignation from all roles at the TKO Group. As it stands, with 11 months still to go before Netflix acquire WWE Raw, we’re yet to see whether the lawsuit against McMahon and WWE will have further repercussions internationally.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the allegations made against Vince McMahon and WWE’s deal with Netflix as soon as we hear more.
