Nick Wayne is hurt.

On last night’s AEW Dynamite in Glasgow, a late change was made to the Forbidden Door when Nick Wayne had to pull out of the show with an injury. The 20-year-old announced that he’d sustained a broken foot, before revealing Luchasaurus as his replacement to team alongside Kip Sabian to take on Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. Now, more is known about the change and whether the injury is part of a storyline.

Per Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s believed that Wayne’s broken foot is a legitimate injury and that he’s set for a spell on the sidelines.

“He (Nick Wayne) does have a broken foot that is legitimate. He claimed the foot was broken last week in the angle. I don’t know actually when it was broken, but I do know it is a legitimate injury, and he’s obviously going to be out for a while.”

As yet, exactly how long Wayne will be away from competition remains unknown. Given how prominently he’d been featured of late, the current ROH World Television Champion will certainly be missed while he’s recovering from injury. Of course, we wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him return as soon as he’s medically able.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further update on Nick Wayne’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
