Nyla Rose Confirms Behind The Scenes Work At AEW

Rose has been taking on new roles backstage

One of the most prominent members of the AEW women’s division at the company’s start was Nyla Rose. “The Native Beast” made an immediate impact in the company upon signing, becoming the second AEW Women’s Champion in 2020. However, Rose has been notably absent from AEW TV in recent years, with her last televised match being in October 2024. Fans have speculated on Rose’s absence, though the woman herself has spoken on her changing involvement with the company.

Speaking at a K & S WrestleFest virtual signing, Rose elaborated on how she has been working with AEW in a different capacity as of late:

“Mostly, a little bit of backstage, behind the scenes stuff — that front with AEW — but yeah, I’ve been side questing, turning up on the indies, tour of Japan.”

Whilst absent from AEW TV, Rose has continued to make in-ring appearances outside of the company. She reigned as EVE Champion in late 2025 and currently holds Marvelous’ AAAW Tag Team Titles alongside Nightshade, the woman she beat to win the EVE Championship in London.

Rose has previously faced issues from the Oklahoma Athletic Commission following a match on ROH in 2023 due to rulings they made on transgender athletes. Tony Khan expressed his support for Rose at this time.
