‘The Ruler’ is ready for the big time.

Last night’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington DC featured a number of NXT talents in the build-up to John Cena’s retirement match. The record-setting seventeen-time former world champion wanted the focus of the night to be on the future of WWE, and one man who certainly made a strong impression was NXT Champion Oba Femi.

Appearing on the Saturday Night’s Main Event Recap, Oba Femi had the chance to reflect on the positive crowd reaction he received at the Capital One Arena.

“It just goes to show how much work I’ve put into this. I’m undeniable at this point, and the body of work in NXT spoke for itself. Tonight, the match paid dividends. The crowd reacted to me like I’ve been here for decades. Like I’ve been here for a very long time. It didn’t feel like I didn’t belong. It didn’t feel like I was out of place. The work speaks for itself.”

Saturday Night’s Main Event opened with NXT Champion Oba Femi facing Cody Rhodes. ‘The Ruler’ delivered an impressive performance before Drew McIntyre stormed the ring to attack Rhodes, resulting in a disqualification. Femi then came to Rhodes’ aid and had his hand raised by the WWE Champion.

Elsewhere during the show, NXT’s Sol Ruca picked up an impressive victory over Bayley, while Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater fell short against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, before GUNTHER went on to defeat John Cena by submission in the main event.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Oba Femi as soon as we hear more.
