Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar could be set to clash at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Since Brock Lesnar issued an open challenge for WrestleMania 42 on the February 23 edition of RAW, speculation has built over who will be standing face to face with ‘The Beast’ in Las Vegas. While many options remain on the table, Oba Femi and GUNTHER have been the two names have surfaced more than any others with regard to who Lesnar could square off against at the ‘Show Of Shows’. Now, an update has emerged indicating WWE’s direction heading into April.

According to an update from PWInsider Elite, it’s believed WWE are planning to have Oba Femi answer Brock Lesnar’s challenge.

“For those who have asked, the consensus among WWE sources we have spoken with it is that Oba Femi is expected to be the person who steps up to challenge Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 42. We’ve had some who have asked about the potential of it being GUNTHER, but no one we’ve spoken with believes that could be the direction. That said, we’ve seen WWE already pivot their Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre plans, but the general belief from those we’ve spoken believe Femi vs. Lesnar is the current plan.”

Lesnar is advertised to appear on this Monday’s episode of RAW, though he’s unlikely to have Paul Heyman by his side as the manager was taken out by Seth Rollins on the most recent edition of the show with no timetable for his return.

As for other candidates to answer the challenge, it was recently reported that one of WWE’s early WrestleMania plans saw LA Knight pencilled in to face Lesnar in Las Vegas. While that would certainly be a surprising choice in the eyes of many, it’s one that can’t yet be counted out as we edge closer to April’s spectacle. You can read more about the company’s reported plan to have Knight wrestle Lesnar here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania plans as soon as we hear more.
