Orange Cassidy’s ultimate goal is to earn a victory over Jon Moxley.
‘Freshly Squeezed’ Orange Cassidy went down as AEW’s second ever International Champion when he defeated PAC on October 12 of last year, but while many regard him as a great talent, not many people were expecting him to go on as great a run as he did with the gold. Clocking in at 326 days, Cassidy’s time with the International Championship saw him rack up the most title defences of any male wrestler in AEW history, setting the record for the longest reign and entertaining fans with awesome matches each week.
While his reign was ended by Jon Moxley at All Out, Orange actually finds himself as the champion again today, albeit due to injury concerns with the two previous title holders. His next title defence will come on this week’s Dynamite against Claudio Castagnoli, and, while on AEW Control Center, Cassidy was asked why he turned up wearing a suit, something which is so out of character for him.
“Look at that guy over there. He’s clearly bigger than me. He’s clearly stronger than me, and he’s a better professional wrestler than me. There’s one thing I have that he doesn’t, and that is, I do what I want when I want. I’m unpredictable or whatever you want to call it. If I want to wear a suit, I’ll wear a suit. Plus, I just want to show everybody how good I look in a suit. Better than him,”

Seeing as the International Championship is back with the man who carried it for just under a year, fans may expect Orange to go on another run like he was on the first time around. Though, when asked if he was planning on taking on all comers during his second stint with the belt, Cassidy said that his only real goal is to beat Jon Moxley.
“No. I have only one goal, and that is to wrestle and beat Jon Moxley. Unfortunately, Claudio did pin me in the middle of the ring, and they already made a match graphic, so I guess I’ll just have to do it,”

Moxley may himself be the International Champion today if it wasn’t for him suffering a concussion in a match with Rey Fenix and subsequently calling an audible which saw him drop the title, so, if all goes to plan, a rematch between Cassidy and the BCC member is likely and makes sense for the future.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on a potential rematch between Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley as we hear more.
