Paige Says She Thinks This Is Her Last Run, Wants To Make Up For Lost Time In WWE

Paige hopes to compete in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber following her return.
At WrestleMania 42, Nikki Bella stood on the stage to confirm that she hadn’t been medically cleared in time for the Women’s Tag Team Championship four-way match. However, filling in for ‘The Fearless One’ was a returning Paige, who teamed with Brie Bella to capture the gold. Now, the Brit has discussed her aims for her next run with WWE.
Speaking to Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story?, Paige said she doesn’t think she’ll be wrestling after this run, noting she wants to use her time to compete in match stipulations that weren’t available during her first stint with the company.
“I came in this time with a mindset where I just want to be happy and have fun, because I don’t think I’m going to be wrestling after this run. I want to just enjoy my time that I have here, embrace absolutely everything, just enjoy the journey. That’s all I care about. But I do want to finally be able to be in the Royal Rumble that I got to not be a part of and do the Elimination Chambers and do, you know, all these stipulation matches that were not around. I had to be backstage in Gorilla when the Royal Rumble just started, and no one knew I was retired by that point, you know? And so I just sat there and I was just really sad. It was bittersweet. I was happy that the girls finally got this big match that we didn’t have before. But I was sad because I wasn’t a part of it, and I didn’t know if I was ever going to be a part of it again. And so to have this moment where I’m back in WWE, my neck is good, I’m wrestling again, and there’s opportunities for me to be a part of these stipulation matches. I mean, man, I’m really excited. I’m really excited for the next couple of years.”

Having departed AEW in early 2025, the star ended her year-long absence from professional wrestling by coming back to WWE last weekend. Paige’s appearance marked her first match since October 2024, and her first time wrestling in a WWE ring for almost nine years.
While many are now eagerly anticipating Paige’s reign as one-half of the tag team champions, her comeback was reported by media outlets prior to the show, something which frustrated Brie Bella. You can read more on her recent comments here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Paige’s WWE return as soon as we hear more.
