Paul Ellering, Akam and Rezar are reportedly gone from WWE.
Former NXT Tag Team Champions Authors of Pain returned to our screens in 2024 after initially leaving the company four years earlier. Re-united with Paul Ellering, the pair found themselves alongside Karrion Kross and Scarlett as part of The Final Testament and their last Monday Night RAW appearance came on December 9 when the faction teamed with The Miz to defeat the Wyatt Sicks. However, it now appears as if the team and their manager have left WWE.
First, PWInsider reported that Paul Ellering, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame along with The Road Warriors in 2011, has been let go by the company.
“WWE released Hall of Famer Paul Ellering tonight, PWInsider.com can confirm.”

Then, PWInsider released a later update which revealed that Akam and Rezar had also been released.
“PWInsider.com can confirm that WWE has released The Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar as of tonight.”

During their first absence from WWE, the Authors of Pain did not make any in-ring appearances away from the company, so time will tell as to whether their future remains in the industry. Regardless, we wish Paul Ellering, Akam and Rezar all the best for the future.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Paul Ellering and the AOP as soon as we hear more.
