Paul Wight: I’m Personally Pushing For AEW To Do More TV In The UK

Paul Wight wants AEW to do more TV in the UK.

In 2023, AEW made its first ever trip to the UK to hold All In from Wembley Stadium. At the time, the announcement of such a large venue stunned most fans, but, when all was said and done, the company sold over 80,000 tickets to the show. Since then, they’ve returned to London’s capital for another All In, and even taped some episodes of Dynamite and Collision from around the United Kingdom, but one AEW name has now revealed he wants them to come back to Britain even more.

Speaking to Sporf, Paul Wight revealed he’s personally pushing for AEW to do more TV in the UK.

“London’s become our global destination. We’ve had great success over here. We love coming over here. I’m personally pushing to do more television over here. I know we’ve done a small one in Scotland. I want us to do more work over here. It’s just a great environment to come over here. I would love to do like a couple of week tour over here. I know the logistics are hard on that, but hit like Birmingham, Sheffield, all the places that I’ve hit over the years with those great arenas, that great environment. You guys are rabid over here as far as fans go. That’s a great opportunity for AEW going forward in the future. I’m sure we’re gonna explore this market much more with live events and televised events.”

Having made the August Bank Holiday weekend a staple of the AEW pay-per-view calendar, UK fans have gotten used to Dynamite and Collision travelling to countries like Wales and Scotland before the showpiece event. However, last December, the promotion came to Manchester exclusively to film their weekly shows, proving more tapings overseas is certainly a possibility.

Of course, the next time All Elite Wrestling will visit the UK will be for this year’s All In, with the respective men’s and women’s Owen Hart Tournaments already underway to determine who’ll challenge for the top gold. Before they arrive at Wembley Stadium for the third time, Dynamite and Collision are set to air from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
