One half of The Lucha Bros could potentially make the jump from AEW to WWE.
Earlier this month, Lucha Libre Online reported that Penta’s AEW contract is set to expire between August and September of this year, adding that WWE hold an interest in the former AEW World Tag Team Champion. We now have more information on his potential next moves, with a departure from AEW not out of the question.
In today’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that with Penta’s contract set to expire in roughly two months, the 39-year-old is open to leaving AEW and joining WWE as he looks to sign his last big money deal.
“Penta’s contract which has been talked about some of late expires in roughly two months. For months we’ve heard he’s open to leaving. Tony Khan said he’s confident he can keep him, but we know he’s been open to the idea of going to WWE. He said he hasn’t talked to WWE (he legally can’t directly for a few more months) but was open to hearing from them when he could. He said he believes this is probably his last big money deal (he’s 39) and that he has a lot of people counting on him so he has to look at everything. That statement makes me think he’s going where he gets the best offer.”

Penta is set to team with his brother Rey Fenix and CMLL’s Mistico to take on Los Ingobernables de Japon’s Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi, & Titan at this Sunday’s AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door show.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Penta El Zero Miedo as soon as we hear more.
