I think it’s pretty fair to say that Cody Rhodes is the hottest free agent on the market right now.
Rhodes announced his AEW departure a few weeks ago and there has been plenty of talk regarding his future, including in WWE.
Fightful Select recently gave their weekly update on Cody Rhodes, and stated that WWE talent was not told specifically that Rhodes was coming into the company. But there had been plenty of chatter, specifically about him and Seth Rollins:
“There had been plenty of chatter and pitches regarding Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Of late, we’ve heard from the creative end that is “uncertain.” However, as recently as Saturday that listed Austin Theory as “TBD” and kayfabed the locker room and staff that he’d be facing Brock Lesnar at MSG, so it’s quite possible.”
