An old pay-per-view could be returning.

Since Triple H took over WWE creative, subtle changes have been made to the company’s annual calendar. In particular, an effort has been made to move away from gimmick-based Premium Live Events such as Hell In A Cell, however, per a new report, the imposing structure could make its return this year, along with the comeback of an old pay-per-view.

PWInsider Elite are now reporting that there have been creative pitches in WWE to bring back ‘Bad Blood’, specifically due to wanting to pay homage to the event which hosted the first ever Hell In A Cell match in 1997.

“There have been creative pitches within WWE to bring back the old WWE Bad Blood PPV title, PWinsiderElite.com can confirm. We are told the idea would be to use the title this October to tie-into the anniversary of the first ever Hell In A Cell bout, which was featured on the 10/5/97 Badd Blood PPV with The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. The plan would be to have a Hell in A Cell bout as part of the October PPV broadcast on Peacock, WWE Network, etc.”

With October 5 being a Saturday this year, it’s entirely possible that WWE will look to line up 2024’s ‘Bad Blood’ PLE with the exact date on which it took place when Shawn Michaels battled The Undertaker 27 years ago. With around four months to go, it will be interesting to see who the company position for a potential Hell In A Cell match this Autumn.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE potentially bringing back ‘Bad Blood’ as soon as we hear more.
