An update has emerged on The Rock’s WrestleMania status and what WWE might be planning for the show.

With the beginning of WrestleMania 41 just over a little over three months away, fans are wondering what WWE are planning for the ‘Show Of Shows’, and this is particularly the case when it comes to The Rock. Many viewers thought ‘The Final Boss’ could be set to face Cody Rhodes in Las Vegas, however, in October, it was reported that the 52-year-old wouldn’t have any involvement at the event. Now, an update has now emerged on The Rock’s status for WrestleMania, as well as the planned match for Cody Rhodes.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there’s reportedly a belief that The Rock will be involved with WrestleMania 41, however Cody Rhodes is currently slated to be facing John Cena.

Nobody had directly told us that Dwayne Johnson will be on the show (WWE Netflix Premiere), but I would think there’s a good shot of it. There is a belief he’s doing WrestleMania, although nobody knows what capacity and as noted, Cena vs. Rhodes is right now scheduled meaning the original plans for Rhodes vs. Rock are off.”

While Cena vs Rhodes may be on the cards as of now, it goes without saying that the lineup for WrestleMania could still change in the coming weeks and months. Still, many will be excited by the prospect of Rhodes squaring off with the 16-time world champion, particularly with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the plans for WWE WrestleMania 41 as soon as we hear more.
