AEW reportedly don’t want their talent on other shows over WrestleMania weekend.
With WWE’s spectacle event just over two weeks away, WrestleMania season is well and truly upon us. Particularly as the show draws nearer and nearer, companies from all over flock to ‘Mania’s host city to capitalise on the buzz, and the days leading up to the event usually feature big matches. Though, one company who isn’t known for running a marquee event on ‘Mania weekend is AEW, and we now know how All Elite Wrestling talent handle the biggest weekend of the wrestling calendar.
Per PWInsider Elite, it’s said that All Elite Wrestling are fine with their wrestlers taking signing appearances, but don’t want them to perform anywhere that isn’t already in a partnership with AEW.
“In terms of AEW talents and how they handle independent shows, we are told the promtion is fine with talents taking signing appearances, such as Wrestlecon. However, the company does not want talents wrestling unless it is for a partner promotion, such as New Japan Pro Wrestling. DDT. STARDOM. etc. DDT and STARDOM each have events Wrestlemania week”

Khan will oversee ROH’s Supercard of Honor show over WrestleMania weekend as it is a Ring of Honor tradition that he didn’t want to break, though it seems as if that’s where his willingness to allow talent to wrestle over ‘Mania weekend ends. The general rule is that AEW talent have to get their independent dates cleared to make sure they don’t clash with internal schedules, so it’s possible that exceptions to the rule may apply.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AEW talent’s schedules over WrestleMania weekend as soon as we hear more.
