An update has emerged on what WWE might be planning for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41.
With WrestleMania 41 just 26 days away, Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker’s direction for the show is still unclear. Many were linking the 27-year-old with a possible one-on-one match against Penta in Las Vegas, but, with a singles title match happening between them tonight on the March 24 Monday Night RAW, questions have emerged regarding whether the Mexican star will be the one to go after Breakker’s title at the ‘Show of Shows’.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that WWE’s plan as of March 17 was to have Bron Breakker defend the Intercontinental Championship against Penta, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio in a four-way match at WrestleMania 41.
“The working plan as of the Balor/Breakker IC Title match was to actually feature a four-way at WrestleMania, with Bron Breakker vs. Penta vs. Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio.”
-Fightful Select
Should this be what WWE go with, it certainly aligns well with what viewers have seen on the red brand in recent weeks. On March 17, Bron Breakker defended the title against Finn Balor after Dominik Mysterio accidentally cost his stablemate the match, while Penta made his intentions to go after the championship clear earlier in the night. It’s worth noting that plans can still change in the weeks leading up to April 19 and 20.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on WWE’s plans for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 as soon as we hear more.
